Business hub

UAE business setup, then property

Founders relocating to the UAE usually make two decisions in the same quarter: which zone issues the licence, and which district to live in or buy. This hub keeps both on one page.

Quick answer: Pick the zone by activity, not by headline price. DMCC suits trading and consulting, DIFC and ADGM suit regulated finance and wealth structures, RAKEZ and the lean Dubai zones suit first-time founders on a tight budget. A licence gives you a residence route, and residence changes which property purchase makes sense: owner-occupier near the office, or a yield unit let to someone else.

Which zone fits which business

Zone Typically chosen for
DMCC (Dubai) Commodities, trading, consulting, tech
DIFC (Dubai) Financial services, funds, holding structures
ADGM (Abu Dhabi) Funds, family offices, private wealth, fintech
JAFZA (Dubai) Logistics, manufacturing, port-linked trade
IFZA and Meydan (Dubai) Lean service companies, first-time founders
RAKEZ (Ras Al Khaimah) Lowest-cost licences, light industrial

Licence fees, visa quotas and workspace rules change. Confirm current figures with the zone authority or a licensed setup consultant before you budget.

Structure and licence decisions

After the licence: tax, banking and residency

The property step

Most founders end up in one of three places. If the company is in a Dubai zone, Dubai property investment covers the freehold districts near JLT, Business Bay and Dubai South. If the licence sits in ADGM, look at Abu Dhabi property instead, since the commute logic is different. If you want residency locked to the asset rather than the company, compare Golden Visa through property. Not sure which order to do it in? Ask on the consultation page or request a shortlist and we will frame both options.
